Micromax is going to release it’s much awaited Micromax A116 Canvas 3 (also known as Micromax A116 Canvas HD) next 14th February (See Micromax A116 Canvas 3 Release date). After announcement of Micromax A116 Canvas 3, it boomed into the market and everyone is waiting for this low priced quad-core smartphone. Till now no company was able to implement such aggressive pricing. Micromax A116 Canvas 3 is going to be priced below Rs.15,000. At just Rs. 15000 Micromax is providing features of a Rs. 30,000 Samsung phone.
Samsung also tried to compete the mid-range smartphone market with it’s Samsung Galaxy Grand, but it lagged to micromax A116 Canvas 3 in terms of Display, price and processor. In this low priced quad-core segment only Micromax A116 HD and Karbonn S1 Titanium grabbed attention of general users. Though specification wise A116 canvas 3 is far ahead of Karbonn S1.

Micromax A116 features a 1.2Ghz quad-core MediaTek’s MT6589 processor, 1GB RAM, 720p HD display, WiFi, Bluetooth, Android 4.1, and so on. 8MP auto-focus camera on the rear panel also looks good. Micromax A116 Canvas 3 features a 5 inch 720p HD display, though 720p displays are feature of 2012, not 2013. in 2013 smartphones will launch with 1080p full HD display. Sony Xperia Z is going to launch with such a full HD display.

In terms of internal memory Micromax A116 Canvas 3 lags behind 2013 phones with just 4GB of it. Though you can increase it’s memory upto 32GB with microSD card.
Micromax A116 Canvas 3 have only a 8MP camera, while most of the 2013 cameras will come with a 13MP camera.
in terms of other specs, Micromax A116 Canvas 3 doesn’t have NFC, though it comes packed with all other features like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, compass etc. It also have latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean for ultimate user experience. Micromax also said it will get Android 4.2 update soon after launch.
