How to Root HTC Desire 300

This tutorial guide will familiarize you with the procedure of rooting the HTC Desire 300 smart phone that will give you complete control over it.  You can access the operating system that is otherwise restricted. Speed improvement and up gradation of battery life will also be made possible after rooting.

Phone Features – The HTC Desire 300 is a smart phone at the lower end of the spectrum that is meant for customers of the developing markets like India and is an ideal choice for first timers.

Processor – 1GHz, Dual Core

Battery – 1650mAh

HTC Desire 300

Preparations:

 Make sure your device is powered with adequate battery back up.

Original USB cable is required and USB bugging to be enabled on the device.

A PC will be required

The procedure:

Follow the steps given below:

Step 1 The boot loader of the phone has to be unlocked. To do this you will have to log on to a reliable source

Step 2 You have to download CWM recovery. Then turn off the phone

Step 3 Press the Volume down button together with the Power button to switch on the phone. A Menu will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4 Use the volume rockers of your phone to select “Fastboot”.  Connect the phone to a PC using the USB.

Step 5 Now download ADB from a reliable source. The ADB is to be unzipped and saved in any drive of your choice. If you save it in C drive, it will show C:/android.

Step 6 The recovery.img file is to be copied to the ADB folder that has been unzipped.

Step 7 Opening the command prompt on the PC, the following commands will have to be typed sequentially:

cd c:/android

fastboot flash recovery.img

CMW recovery will be flashed on your phone.

Step 8 Switch off the phone.

Step 9 Now switch on the phone again using the combination of volume down and power button.

Step 10 On the Menu that is displayed “Recovery” is to be selected. With this, CWM recovery has been successfully installed on your phone.

Rooting of HTC desire 300 is now complete.

Installing SuperSu:

  1. You have to download SuperSu
  2. The zip file supersu is to be saved in the SD card.
  3. Going to CWM recovery select “Install zip from SD card>>Choose zip from card>>yes”
